Plenty to discuss as usual at the latest of the bi-monthly meetings between campus trade unions and Student Association representatives.

Campus trade unions and reps of the GCU Students’ Association met on Monday 31st October as part of their regular update on issues of common concern.

Issues discussed included the implications of the current Portfolio Review for jobs and the student experience, the effects of the new timetabling service on staff conditions and student teaching,  current university proposals to end the existing catering contract with encore, and finally how to ensure maximum attendance at the forthcoming joint Union/ NUS demonstration on November 19th.

Campus unions commended the student association on their draft Bigger Plan approach that pledged to work together with students, Campus Trade Unions, NUS and other stakeholders on local and national campaigns and encourage student-led campaigns that make a positive impact on the lives of our members.’

It was agreed to keep in regular touch between the scheduled meetings
